I am a UC Davis alumnus working on my career in web development. I am a curious person, and I believe that we must never stop improving. To that end, I am always teaching myself to do something new and learning new technologies.

Previous Work Experience and Projects:

California Advocates Management Services, Inc.

  • Worked in team of 3 to manage over 20 client sites, consisting of both custom-made websites and WordPress sites with custom themes. Website codebases ranged from HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C#, PHP, and Classic ASP.
  • Primarily focused on front-end website maintenance and automation, eCommerce integration and maintenance, as well as SEO. Also participated in back-end coding and web design projects whenever necessary.
  • Undertook project to update sites by updating code to be more ADA-accessible. Removed over 90% of accessibility errors and warnings across client sites.
  • Optimized several client sites by automating pages via back-end code, saving clients money by reducing billable time.
  • Took on various other roles as needed, including: creating and designing art for mass emails and social media, managing social media accounts, and proofreading and creation of digital magazines.
  • Further saved clients money by adopting a new digital magazine software, resulting in less cost per digital magazine created.

Imagining America

My first freelance job, Imagining America is a consortium that has "connected , convened, and advocated for public scholars and artists committed to creating a more caring and just world."

  • Lead developer in charge of development of new WordPress site.
  • Worked closely with team of designers to develop a custom WordPress theme and bring test designs to life.
  • Participated in code review to strengthen JavaScript and jQuery skills.

UC Davis Computational Linguistics Laboratory

A job I held as a student, this project sought to find morphological differences throughout the 19th and 20th centuries between Peninsular and Latin American Spanish by utilizing Ocular Character Recognition of digitized newspapers. Project led by Dr. Raul Aranovich of the UCD CompLing Lab.

  • Used Ocular Character Recognition software to scan 19th- and 20th-century digitized newspapers from Spain and Latin America.
  • Utilized the Python Natural Language ToolKit package for language processing and wrote scripts to automate scanning and post-processing of scanned texts.
